A Romper for Lucy

Lucy in her romper

I'm so excited to share this project with you! My friend Lena, who I met in one of those chance encounters, has a passion project. . .

Lena is one the premier wardrobe stylists in Detroit. Her interest in fashion most likely started as a young girl with her Grandma, Baci.  Baci was a seamstress of tremendous skill.  Lena's own wardrobe contains many treasured pieces, specially designed and made for her by her Baci. When her Baci passed - Lena kept the fabric she left behind.  Lena has troves of vintage fabric that are just waiting to be made into custom pieces.  You can check out more information here on Lena's site.

Lena and I met while our daughters attended the same gymnastic class.  She found out I sewed, I found out she needed some who sews!

So far we've made two items from Baci's Fabric Collection together.  I hope to be able to share those designs in the near future. This romper was a special gift for Lena I made from Baci's fabric. Meet Lucy, Lena's second daughter born in May. It was an honor to make something of her Great Grandmother's fabric for Lucy to wear.

To continue the long tradition of seamstresses sharing and passing on their love of sewing I'm attaching the romper pattern to this blog post.  Please feel free to download and make your own.  I'd love to see it!

xoxo, Lisa
